i didn't realise it years ago but the first few cuts aren't him. doesn't look like his animation nor is the handwriting on the child post for the first cut his either. he never encircled both the cel letter and number too. he starts from 0:13

This is very well done! Who was the director?
I don't know who directed this scene specifically. I only know that the series was directed by Hashim Yanis, who is a Jordanian writer and actor. Most sources about this series are in Arabic, so it's hard to put this into an English conversation

imo, only the opening sequence to Hell Verse can compare and considering the wildly different circumstances, it's not worth comparing. Definitely an incredible episode
Gotta love the effects of Q Kawa
I quite dig the paint brush style of the flames.
Big props not only to Q Kawa, but also Saori Goda, the color designer.
What a spectacle!
Kudos to the composite team too!
Adding cgi tag for the skeletons

I don't know much about them but I think Kuwana would make sense for the cuts that aren't Miyazawa.
the frame rate is super broken here by the way, I've tagged it with remake accordingly

maybe Nobutoshi Ogura? There are a lot of other really strong animators on the first episode though
