That's what no dub and no real marketing outside of Japan besides word of mouth will do. Same thing with Parallel Works, so many Gurren Lagann fans I know have never even heard of it.

Parallel Works is probably even more niche than the movies and they're still just as worth watching. The series is blessed great projects worth viewing.

It is that many judge it unfairly when they discover that it retells the history of the series but with changes and additions, or perhaps they believe that it will be like Death Note Relight.
