One thing that bothered me about this movie is the changes in scale between Unicron and everything else. In another scene, Unicron is smashing Cybertron with his bare hands. All of the Transformers should be microscopic compared to him.

True, but do you really expect scale consistency in Transformers? Because that's practically non-existant unless it's a fully CGI series.

Point taken. Though I must admit, this movie has the best animation I've ever seen from the G1 Transformers series. The third season started after this movie came out, and most of it was animated by AKOM (yuck!).
