I know I've see a cut very similar to that raven closeup before but I can't remember where. Really cool shading.

Not sure if it's what you're thinking of, but it reminded me of one of the various Trigon related episodes from season 4 of Teen Titans.

the crows from kizumonogatari (first movie) perhaps? at the start of the movie when Araragi is on the roof? the lots of pure black shading reminded me of that.
