After some internal discussion, we've decided to make a special exception for Dragon Ball movie uploads:

Since the movies were storyboarded with both aspect ratios in mind, but only the 16:9 option being available on Blu-ray, we will now be accepting the lower quality 4:3 DVDs as the primary upload for archival purposes, with the new 16:9 Toei Blu-ray serving as a secondary representative for quality's sake. This is due to the 16:9 options feeling remarkably cramped, and being a site dedicated to the preservation and display of exemplary animation, we felt it best to display as much of the cut as possible, instead of defaulting to a Blu-ray.

As a guide for 4:3 uploads, these are the current best sources to use:

Dragon Ball M1 - Zima BD
Dragon Ball M2 - <No current HQ 4:3 source available, please use Toei's Blu-ray>
Dragon Ball M3 - Zima BD
Dragon Ball M4 - Zima BD

Dragon Ball Z M01 - FUNimation UUE DVD
Dragon Ball Z M02 - FUNimation UUE DVD
Dragon Ball Z M03 - FUNimation UUE DVD
Dragon Ball Z M04 - FUNimation Single DVD
Dragon Ball Z M05 - FUNimation Single DVD
Dragon Ball Z M06 - FUNimation Single DVD
Dragon Ball Z M07 - AB Video DVD
Dragon Ball Z M08 - AB Video DVD
Dragon Ball Z M09 - AB Video DVD
Dragon Ball Z M10 - AB Video DVD
Dragon Ball Z M11 - AB Video DVD
Dragon Ball Z M12 - FUNimation Single DVD
Dragon Ball Z M13 - FUNimation Single DVD

For 16:9 uploads, please use the new Toei remaster, as Funimation's old Blu-rays will no longer be accepted due to their poor remastering decisions.

I appreciate this is all a bit convoluted, and getting the 4:3 releases isn't easy, but since the new Toei remasters are incredibly easy to come by, I'm more than happy to take on adding the 4:3 counterparts on your behalf should you only have access to said 16:9 option.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

TL;DR: One for a full view, one for quality.
So... the Toei remastered movies are going to be okay, despite being "greenish"?

Yeah, that's fine.
aint no other anime gotta have all this fuss over it but leave it to the good ol' dragon ball community

So the new Toei remasters but the streaming ones only correct? Not the new blu-rays?

Preferably. As long as it's not Movie 5 which is straight up broken on Blu-ray, it's not a big deal which you go with.

Doesn't Funimation's DVDs for the original DB movies all come in 4:3? Why not just use that one? (At least as a secondary source.)
