I wonder if there would have been some way to have their gem hair be CG and leave the rest hand drawn without it feeling awkward. That may have been the best of both worlds.

My thoughts too. This looks so much better than the 2017 series, especially the mercury.

I'll concede the cinnabar point, but I definitely don't agree on this being better wholesale than the 2017 series. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
