Another favorite sequence of mine from a cel-animated Rankin/Bass production. Simple, yet effective freakout scene.

No idea who in particular animated this scene, but the studio is Mushi Production. Apologies for the large timecode and the general poor quality, the show is mostly lost and while this is one of the few publicly available episodes, this is the only copy of the episode.
No problem. The quality guidelines and specific rules like avoiding subtitles/timecodes are in place so that people attempt to archive the highest quality releases available, but only within reason. In cases like this, the remake tag is more of a formality; and if something better happens to come up through some sort of miracle, then it's a nice reminder.
I get it. And as for this show, the ball is entirely in Universal/Dreamworks Animation/Classic Media's court to provide a better quality version. They own the copyright and I believe have the negatives, so its up to them to finally give the show a re-release. No idea if they ever will, but the Rankin/Bass Christmas 4Ks and their recent internal focus in restoring their animated catalog is a good sign...
ooh, I see you're a Rankin Bass fan, huh? Pretty unique stuff to have on this site. These WERE very anime esque.
Very much. Very underrated company tbh.
by the way, a new episode of this show resurfaced online a week ago. Check it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlnK9EuNYNs
That episode has been found for quite a while now, but its nice to see a mirror for it. I should update my Internet Archive page with it sometime whenever I remember to...
Oh, shit. You were the one who found all these episodes and put them onto IA. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT! Stupid question, but are there any more found episodes that we don't know are found like this? Like a 9th or 10th episode?
Sadly not. We're at the mercy of bootleggers unless we stumble across a film print of a lost episode. Shame this show never had a home release.
