At MAPPA they animate mostly either on paper or in Clip Studio Paint (MAPPA strongly prefers CSP if an artist uses digital.) Other programs used to animate in the industry include opentoonz, toonboom, and Photoshop, but CSP is by far the most used industry wide. Industry standard for anime compositing is After Effects. I believe editing also usually happens in Adobe Premiere, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Avid Media Composer is used as a distant second. There’s other software used along the way for coloring, audio, and other steps of the process, but I dunno what those are specifically.

Also, a friendly reminder since people get caught up with this all the time, software is just a tool. It’s the people and their skill who make the anime.
