My man deserves a month rest atleast for this
Nearly a minute. No wonder his tweets were so depressing. He has been doing some incredible work this season
Kato is consistently amazing. The raw intensity of Kanada-style action is unmatched.
KOSUKE GOATO! hopefully he will get a nice rest after this
Def his best cut of the season god damn
I love this man and his style so much
The choreography is insane, bless this man.
Honestly, for me Kosuke Kato easily makes up for Park's absence in this season; this really reminded me of his action sequences in season 1. They are both equally amazing.
Animators are at their best when they can feel strong emotions and relate to the characters they are working with. It is art after all. I am sure Kato sympathized with Itadori's desire to beat the absolute shit out of Mahito.
Man, easily Kato’s best cut yet, surpassing episodes 3’s cut. And honestly one of my favorite cuts of JJK. And I can say that for pretty much all of his cuts this season. He’s like the new Sunghoo Park but even more exaggerated and stylized. This will prolly be his last cut and I can safely say he’s now become one of my favorite animators.
tagged miyajima for the still at the end, in case it gets deleted:
加藤滉介:
このカットはキャラ原画が演出の宮島くん
そしてそこにひたすっらタッチを描きこんだのが自分という謎のキメラカット
タッチには本当にいろんな想いがこもってます

S1 looks ugly in comparison to S2, even with the immensely troubled production. I feel like Season 1 didn't accommodate most key animators sequences with its overly detailed and ugly character designs, also just meh compositing. S2 isn't accommodating its animators for different reasons, as evil as Mappa is it still shocks me this hasn't got a delay, but I guess the money is flowing far too much for them to want to quit.

Kato proved himself as a really good action animator in JJK season 2. But......there is a difference between an Animator animating huge chunks of sequences and a Director(Sunghoo Park) animating huge chunks of sequences.

Director has to make storyboards, correct/redraw scenes which are drawn by the keyanimator etc...

Sunghoo park basically directed a 37 episodes show (first 13 episodes being God Of Highschool and other 24 episodes being JJK S1) and a movie (JJK 0).

In GOH....he is basically EVERYTHING
10 storyboards out of 13 episodes (his action storyboards will be really detailed to work with.....pls checkout "Making of GOH" in YouTube if u haven't)
Animated in 6 episodes (all major action scenes 1,2,5,10,12,13......in last 10, 12 and 13 episodes he basically animated 80% of the action scenes because most of the action animators are busy working in JJK S1)

In JJK S1....
He animated in 6 episodes (7,12,16,20,23 and 24).......In all the sequences he animated .....he maintains the complex character designs without sacrifising the fluidity of the combat scenes. He uses right amount of smears and impact frames in his kanada style of animation which appease to both sakuganerds as well as normal viewers.

In JJK 0
he storyboarded Mei Mei vs curses scene, yuta scene (not Yuta vs Geto.......he storyboarded a scene where yuta climbs up the curses and camera goes into 1st person......it's in the trailer), some short sequences in the battle.
Animated Gojo Vs Miguel.....
Lets not do this whole who’s better thing, it’s just clogging up the comments and leading to an inevitably pointless and prolonged argument

I think some people didn't uderstand what i was trying to say, but sorry, it's my fault for not conveying it well. My intention was never to compare the two in terms of who contributed the most and/or worked the most, cuz i know Park is leagues above, but their style of animation, the frenetic and well choreographed sequences. I miss Park's animation and Kato reminded me of him. Sorry for the inconvenience.
honestly i think what we can all agree on is that we’re blessed to be getting such skilled animators delivering this kind of top-notch choreo and animation in both seasons. such incredible work all around
