Such an impressive sequence.

I especially love how the dark red colour works so well with the dark blue sky.
What the fuck? That rotation, that consistency, god shit.
It's not noticeable at all, but that left merlon disappears between frames 937/938
Man, I'm just wondering how they are getting all these heavyweights on the scene. Second time this happened at Madhouse. Also, this goes stupendously hard.
Fern stonks rising exponentially
Fern's subtle movement in fourth cut (0:09) is so elegant and the transition to the next cut has a very good flow

I think it's legit just that animators can't resist an adaption from good source material with a good schedule. That and I'd imagine there's a snowball effect. Like once a few big names show up on a project, more follow because they want to work alongside other goats, and then it just compounds the more people sign on. Just a guess tho
Every project with Yuichiro Fukushi as animation producer is stacked with talents. The quality of the source material is rarely a factor alone. Most of the big names working on Frieren have been working with this team for a while. But for Fujimoto, it's likely that he got there and had his debut because he's a big fan of the source material.
Is the bg CG assisted/drawn over?
This anime is on another level

Pretty sure he’s used blender assistance before, so it’s possible, but we dunno
Fujimoto's a madman, what a sick sequence!
an otherworldly piece by Fujimoto, he went above and beyond in this episode.
