This four-parter is so good and I'm so glad that Iwane got to work on it. I feel like his drawings really helped to define Hikari and Shinji's personalities, straight up in tandem with Tomioka Atsuhiro's scripts. Diamond & Pearl is so much a favorite of mine because you can truly tell just how much of it was a passion project and brain child for Tomioka, Asada Yuuji and Iwane. It's why I'm so glad that they got to work together not nearly all of the Shinji episodes, many of the Hikari episodes and then on most of Shinji and Hikari's appearances for the 2019 anime.
Iwane's such a master of subtle limited animation. I almost wish he would just be allowed to keep doing his own series of Pokemon specials like the Arceus specials from the beginning of 2022.
