I love how the fabric moves when the zombies are grabbing at Denji's pants

Same. Their compositing is actually indredible, especially with the smears on the chainsaw blades.
I'm especially a fan of how the dust/smoke falls from the beam as a result of Denji hitting it
absolutely love the droplets and swift camera movement

第二原画をやらせてもらったカットのうち個人的に気に入ってるエフェクトの一部です
エフェクトは結構自由に描かせてもらったのですが、LOの設計力がとても高く大変勉強になりました…🙏
That CGI is a bit unfortunate but at the same time I guess it's necessary since no sane animator would want to draw all that detail every new drawing.

I think there are a few mad lad out there that are willing to do that lol (i am also certain will see some of those animator in next episodes).
The real issues is you can't expect all the animators to do that. And there is also a possibility that many were willing to try but could have been asked to not go that far.

But if you see the opening almost all the chainsaw man cuts are in 2D there.
They've actually used waaaay less CG than people make out, thing is they tend to use it for slower scenes or where denji doesn't move as much which is unfortunate since it sticks out like a thorn
I feel that this is the only place where the cg looked a bit iffy. Although only within the first few cuts it’s used in. The close up shots in particular looked a little rough. Definitely better than people are making it out to be.
