I come back to this scene every once in awhile just for the pure looseness Shikama was allowed and the change of pace from his action oriented work on the first season. From an artistic standpoint it's a blessing the staff co-signed his constant departure from the designs and from a long-term sense I think the series really lost something huge with its modern approach to production, causing scenes like this to just age really well when it offers something SAO as a whole no longer has. Artists like Shikama definitely don't grow on trees, but the charm of this matched with Adachi's more simplistic sensibilities made for a great package. Great work.
