It's a shame there were so few of them and they were so far between. I feel like the specials could really do with an extended edition to help flesh some ideas out or at least have more scenes of Alan and Manon having fun. I do like how they allowed Tomioka to explore some elements the regular Satoshi series don't usually touch up on. The darker atmosphere definitely helped give the specials their own flair, too.

I'm also really impressed that Tomioka, Asada Yuuji and Iwane Masa'aki managed to tackle these four specials all by themselves. With Iwane doing the key animation for all four specials alone he's practically animated an episode movie by himself.
