I am genuinely shocked that something this flashy wasn't dimmed.
This should be Mitsuru obunai, and the former one should not.

The dimming is done automatically by a bot after it detects a certain threshold of repeated/specific frames. Ufotable intentionally designs their work so it avoids detection (not that hard to do, most just dont care to do it)

They don't care? they're lazy.... or maybe it's just a dirty strategy to sell the best version on Blueray-Dvd?!

nobody cares about dimming except for sakuga fans lol

and some stations (TV Tokyo) have stricter requirements that cant be avoided
It's not that they don't care it's that they're not aware it's a thing. If you inform someone about it they'll be cursed to notice it every time like the rest of us.
Anyway, it's becoming less and less of a thing as studios start to send the unedited versions to streaming services, or just not care about it.

I'm talking about series directors and producers who would be the ones with the means to avoid dimming. To give an example, the first cut here was dimmed because of the cycle:

Since its not at all integral to their identity in the same way that it is for ufotable, they dont care to go out of their way to try to avoid the filter.
