Jesus christ... the dimming is unfortunate but the BD would fix it anyway. Also amazing compositing work

Fucking knew it was Vincent, his animation is so easy to recognize now, that's how insane he is !!! His effect and Background animation are really next level holy shit ...

Also huge props to the compositing team, despite the dimming. Usually i find that they ruin a bit his effect. But this time it's the complete opposite, they actually enhanced the shit out of it ! Great work

Im so glad they gave proper work to this episode, its a huge step for the boruto story and one of the most famous shonen icons. Bless the animators, impossibly amazing work.

Vincent is an absolute sicko, I dislike the blurring obviously, but th rest of the compositing is really excellent.

This has to be some of Vincent's best work. The compositing on that big attack is insane.

The dimming is pretty much mandatory, it will be removed in the BD release
Is it just me or did the animator get done dirty by the compositors on those fireballs? I mean the end result looks good and everything else looks pretty nice, but those fireballs have been reduced to nothing but big blurry balls of orange and yellow. So much detail lost!

It's not, watch frame by frame. The compositing made it actually better with a more realistic aspect to it ... It's not just one huge yellow and orange ball. Yes the color are more diverse on the raw material. But, look at how well done and realistic it is at 0:08 and the red aura effect outside of the fireball at 0:14. It was added by the compositing team just to enhance it more.
vincent chansard is really a current superstar
the guy is incredible

I wouldn't be complaining about the compositing. I actually think it's quite exceptional and one of the highlights that makes everything stand out much more honestly. You don't normally get this much attention to detail in comp imo
By God, what is this!

Marvelous!!
Vincent Chansard is now one of my favorite animators working in the industry today.

Dimming techniques are pretty much mandatory on TV, they happen all the time on cuts like these. It's not a big deal because it all gets fixed in the BD release
now this is what i call a sakuga cut , the rest of the cuts were good but they were missing that special feeling that was present in this cut and episode 65

I wasn't talking about the dimming. I know that's pretty unavoidable.
If you take a look at the uncolored production materials version of this scene there's a TON of detailed shapes in those fireballs that is completely invisible under all that glow. The final result still looks great, I just think it's a damn shame for the artist to have put in all that extra effort and then not be able to see it in the final product.

It's a pretty nitpicky point given how good the compositing is overall, but as an aspiring animator myself this sort of thing bothers me.

I get your point but Boruto is the wrong series to complain about this on. Most TV anime compositing obliterates animators work on a regular basis, this is literally the 1% (also very little intent is lost in the fireball, it looks fantastic)
except the 8th cut where the fireball is travelling, composting is exceptionally well done and is very true to the genga & the animator.

hows this a remake??
the remake tag is for cuts that are dimmed or ghosted and need to be reuploaded when the BD comes out
Is the BD for this coming out soon?
