What If...? has had some really good usage and seamless blending of 2D visuals in the past three episodes, but this Doctor Strange episode is a particular highlight. This one was done by Flying Bark Productions, the studio behind the animation services for Rise of the TMNT and Lego Monkie Kid. Those particular mentions aren't flukes either, as familiar names like Jeffery Lai (2D Effects Lead) and Tom Barkel (Additional Effects Animation) are among the 2D staff credited.

Hopefully we'll see some specific scenes credits soon enough.

Oh wow I did NOT know this episode had those sorts of people behind it. That’s so cool

I knew that Flying Bark was doing some episodes for What If, namely this episode and the upcoming Killmonger-centric one. Though I was pleasantly surprised to see how much the 2D staff did more than just effects work for this particular episode, with segments of character animation with the creatures and Strange's transformations. Even their cel-shaded 3DCG is rather good, which is a far cry from the studio's usually brand of realistic lighting with cartoony models.
