almost 3 years agoand besides, this is wrong anyway. we have known for a while they have shifted to producing their projects at 1080p a while ago: https://ultimatemegax.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/photography-and-resolution-of-anime/

almost 3 years agoand for cases like violet evergarden, violet had tremendous amount of line-arts, but its getnative graph doesn't show any dip around 900p like the others, and its FFT image is clean too. it can be clearly said that violet was produced at 1080p. did kyoani not use that blurring effect here either?
EDIT: one more thing I forgot to mention. the article mentions this line:
>the method from Anibin, which takes the line art and runs it through a program to measure the depth of the line
what did they mean by measuring depth of the line?

over 2 years agoEven for Violet the fix size for scanning was ~2056x1160 which only nets you "1080p" with smaller then the usual 10% margins so I'd say it's not far fetched for the previous productions to be less than that for various reasons.
Anibin's methodology isn't flawless but still is fairly sound so I wouldn't go and assume it's thrown off by "blur filters" especially considering they're for all intents and purposes just more elaborate variations of the DF that every anime ever uses.

over 2 years agoand as for anibin, i suppose so but it feels pointless when others use it as a reliable source due to inaccuracies it could have with some line filters plus the fact they use broadcast masters anyway
