almost 3 years agoHe just cuts through Kaido like soup and the anime feels as if it delays before going "oh, wait, yeah! That was supposed to be impactful!!" so it splays a bunch of impact frames and kanji. Like the shot wants to be super fluid and also have the impact that shows with a lower framerate would have. It feels as if it wants it cake and to eat it too.
Now this is entirely on purpose so it's more-so just something that bugs me more than a faux pas. This shot is stunning from beginning to end, it reminds me of Onishi's work on Stampede in terms of how compact yet powerful it all is
