Did they just mix up a 2D titan and a CG titan. It flows pretty well together to be honest.

Really think they should've made Eren 2D for this. I think the explosion from the knock back at 0:10 looks ok, but to me the strike itself looked weak. I wish they added smears to the punch like they did for Jaws claws last episode and also some air effects coming off after Eren's fist lands to make it look a bit more forceful.

i could be wrong and the attack titan wasnt cg but it looks cg to me

There's no reason to rig a 3D model for a character that only appears for a few seconds, while the other one already had a model as it's used a lot throughout the season.

the way they blended the 2D and 3D mixed so well together, it's insane.

Because we only see the armored in this form only in this scene. So there is no point in making a cg model for it

I analized the scene, the workflow is probably a partial rotoscope did on an animation done with the old model of the armored (or a low poly one) and then a secondary key animation to apply the temporary creature design to him.
I think that this can be the case, because mappa did this several times with other titles.
