Some beautiful cuts here, espeially the first one, wow!
I am still waiting for Chao Zhang to get a chance to shine. These cuts he has been handed so far didn't showcase his abbility at all.

True, like why is that happening ... I don't quite get it, you guys have mad talent in the production, but waste it for no reason ...
You know what that remind me of ? Takashi Hashimoto on SnK production, and give him a smoke scene ...

Like zhang have mad talent. But it's almost like, they are like. "Hey we need a quick animation for the fight scene, hey zhang can you do it quickly, just quick animationjust to fill it more ? Thanks bud" Like that's an oversimplication from me, but you get it ...

Please give Zhang a real chance to shine ...

If someone have an anwser or want to correct me, please do so. Thanks

Edit: Thanks for providing additional info, on my take.

He's under the watch of the AD and assistant director, so he's just drawing out their boards. Nothing he's done for WoU had been particularly flashy but it's all very competent and not at all ugly. Also, they are on a tight schedule (again) which leaves much less flexibility in what they are able to execute, even with the talent required. I still don't think that smoke was Hashimoto but w/e.
Takashi Hashimoto works on dozens of shows a year, he does average work all the time not sure why anyone was surprised at his contribution to a horribly rushed episode of SnK. Most of his best work is saved for movies, it's only because of Titans' popularity that people even noticed. You don't see Gungou no Magmell fans complaining (if there were any) because he worked on 2 episodes of that and there's very little to show for it. Action AD and effects AD for 12 of 13 episodes on Tower of God and again practically nothing.

However his situation isn't even remotely comparable to Chao Zhang. Adapting to the key-frame system is more challenging than it seems, he would have to re-think his approach because in commercial anime like SAO there are more strict drawing counts due to the industry's reliance on douga and of course the animation director would need to correct more frames so it's not the same as it would be for personal projects/twitter doodles or series with no drawing limitations

So basicaly, if i understood correctly, tight schedule and not wanting to overcharge the AD's correction in that situation. Put a sort of bottleneck on his work "freedom" ?
Does that mean that if someone like Weilin was in this production, he would meet the same issues as Zhang ?
That's correct, there are exceptions on TV anime where big episodes will allow for all-out displays and Welin happens to find his way to a lot of those for a good reason, but generally it opperates under a very limited scope.

But that's not to say limited is bad either, on this same episode we have a scene which uses drawings very sparingly and yet the timing and poses are strong enough to create something really appealing: https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/129026

I thought the first cut was Zhang Chao's before, but actually Vercreek was responsible for it. I'm not sure about the others, so I deleted the tag.
