It's pretty awesome how they use a perspective grid in that rough. I'll try to practice with it more.

Yeah; you'd be surprised at how fundamental it is to understand the space of your shot.

Back when I animated without perspective lines, I was knocked on my ass by You Yoshinari's usage of them in his FLCL shot of bunny Haruko running along the length of the giant gun. It was part of the artistic discovery process that awoke me to how important perspective guidelines are.
