Did Samuel Deats and Tam Lu just animate half this season themselves? God DAMN this is amazing, but now I'm worried about their health.

I think the scheduling was setup where this was entirely possible with minimal stress but correct me if I'm wrong. It got renewed for 2 & 3 and the release window in between 1-2 was because they split the staff.

Alright, I hope that's the case. I'm getting really tired of hearing about animators going five years without sleep so they could finish a movie or tv show.

There is definitely an overlap period between seasons for a couple of months. I freelanced for season 3 sometime in August 2018 for episode 1 and then joined the production as an in-house animator in November of that year. We finished our last cut for season 3 sometime this January. Hopefully this gives ya a better idea of the timeline :D
