A punch usually delivered to the camera with a set of common preparatory poses. Named for the animator Masami Obari, the trope's debut can be found in post #208887, from the anime Fight!! Iczer 1.

The common movements can be said to be:

• an initial pose,
• a pulling back of the punching arm,
• a thrusting chest and head tilt,
• and finally the punch itself; sent towards the screen.

There are many variations out there, sometimes with weapons and in some rare cases the camera is actually from behind. In post #5543 you'll see a regular Obari Punch at around 0:06 and at about 0:11 you will see the same movements performed from behind.
