What's with Yamamuro and vertical kicks with ground grabbing xD

The whole of this scene is very standard Yammy. Ground grabbing, vertical roundhouse and a ki blast while slowly floating away. It checks all boxes XD

Unfortunately no genga has come out for this scene in particular, so it'll probably remain presumed until then.
We do know that Videl's first encounter with Broly is Yamamuro because some genga came out of that a while ago.

Even so, I would be willing to bet my house to say this is Yammy.

Naah this is more like a Yamauchi thing. He even did it during on of the One Piece episodes.

The cut of Broly kicking upwards at :11 is Hitoshi Kamata's, confirmed from timesheet. Yamamuro seemingly retimed that cut after corrections, and heavily modified most of this sequence along with it.


Kamata is likely the genga-tantou for this whole post, but AU is kept just to be safe.
