Imagine, if he wasn't overworking on every episode and he was working on one particular cut, how insane would that be !!
Every cut he did are amazing, but if he could focus on one particule scene that would be even more INSANE!
And from what i saw on his twitter, the work he did for next episode, should be even greater !
I love the hard shadows he added as Garou's standing up!! So badass!
I would love to see Aoki be on a show with a better production just to see what he can do, he clearly has some serious talent to put out so much quality work.

Idk man, maybe he'll show up on the second season of danmachi..
God it felt like I was watching season 1 again for a brief moment, that spurt of hot background animation and those 10/10 thick outlines on Garou at the start. God damn Aoki is a talented man, I sincerely hope he finds better work after this trainwreck of a season. He's been one of the only saving graces of it.
The beginning of this clip makes me wish they had gone back to season 1's character designs and backgrounds.

they're the same character designs (Chikashi Kubota) and same background studio (Atelier Musa)

For this one scene or for the entire season, because if someone told me that they have been using them for season 2 I would call bs.
The design sheets might be the same, but they don't turn out the same in the actual show. Someone took a car buffer to Saitama's chrome dome and it looks strange. Everything's too shiny imo

Composite and photography are completely different areas of the production from character designs. Settei has no color because animators don't need it to draw.

I know that, just justifying why the designs look so different despite Kubota-san being one of the few members of the original team that stayed on between seasons.

I see, also likely why the backgrounds might feel different despite being exactly the same across both seasons.
I agree with MerrBear with the whole being to shiny thing. It reminds me a lot of Dragon Ball Super's art, (which I have not watched because of many bad things I heard about it) especially the characters looking like action figure.
