Norio Matsumoto is the probable equivalent to a Disney animator attempting to animate a fight scene with Japanese animation methods, and succeeding with flying punches and kicks.

That's because Naruto vs Pain is a legitimately great fight, it has nothing to do with people being "apologists". The problem is clueless people hating on the fight animation based on ignorant statements on what good animation is.

I wonder if the distortion during the underwater sequence was completely done in compositing or if Norio drew it that way too
