Masterful. Again- I can't stress enough how dope this cut is with its pairing with MtH's insert song. Honestly think the anime elevated the whole Eternity Devil arc.
He is alredy back? Once again wonderful work.
His first ever outing on SB, not that you can really tell tbh...still great stuff though
As an action animator, he almost always storyboards his own action scenes, or at least rearranges the board (like he did on Dororo) to better accommodate his ideas and animation. So while it's his first credit it's really just a formality. Similarly, Yutaka Nakamura is never credited with storyboard but he designs the action in his scenes himself so he may as well be.

Yeah, I figured as much, given how there's basically no difference between this and his other works
Never is there a still shot in this entire sequence. Denji's rabid movements, the convulsing background of the Eternity Devil, absolutely masterful and one of the best if not the best action sequences in the anime.
Amazing stuff as always and as fluid as ever for a Watanabe cut. I know some people had issues with Denji's running during the leech devil fight but seriously the movement here flows so well. Batshit crazy Denji + K1ro is such a perfect pairing.
0:06 the hold time on the smears is really interesting. They don’t even move, they just hold on the frames
I didn't expect this fight to be my favorite in terms of adaptation. I don't like K1RO's weird skating cuts but I still like the chaos. This fight is like a perfect fit for him.

When he's not on a scene that involves running... whew he's good.
Imo the king of smears. Every smear he does just looks so buttery smooth and appealing I adore it. Props to whoever did the background animation too, really sells the chaotic mass of flesh that was the eternity devil

The Eternity Devil was probably him too
Was Watanabe responsible for the storyboard of the entire avant part, or just the cuts he animated himself?
Wow. K1R0 is really going the Yutapon way with these cuts at 0:18

Really impressed by the fluidity, but it felt too cluttered and hard to follow compared to Watanabe's previous works imho.
"it felt too cluttered" that's literally the point my guy, it would have been meh if it wasn't so chaotic.
I'd say you should stick to reaction videos, I've seen you a couple of times on here and it's pretty obvious you're talking about stuff that you have no idea about.

great way to treat people who are newly taking interest in animation
When I'm new to anything I listen more than I speak. 100% success rate so far, highly reccomend it 👍

Oddly enough I think given the fact that everything else on screen is moving so much, having the smears be still frames really makes them stand out and work all the better
