Ohh shit, NONE of this was even CG, huh?
I’m pretty sure they used CGI base for majority of the performance scenes in the show, haven’t watched the episode yet but it should probably be tagged here.

well, instruments were kind of rotoscoped, well seen in the post #209496
Worth noting that, while CGi model were indeed used as base for "some" (not all) performance cuts on the layout phase, the finished version you see here is not a "simple" "trace over" like you can see on some other CGi assisted sequences, the animators who did the gengas (final ver you see on screen) did a lot of work to draw the detailled characters.

Since the CGi tag is present, its better to not missunderstand what it represent here, help during the LO phase.
So why do some of the cuts have a "CG rigid" look?

thats just realistic movements that you wont see often unless theirs 3d LO or rotoscoping involved
obsessed with the lipsyncing at :14 secs

Ahhh okay, it makes sense, Pretty sure I remember seeing scenes in other shows animated like that before (don't remember which ones exactly).
Might be unpopular but I like the animation up until Myoun's part. From there on it all has some of that uncanny rotoscope/3D traced feel to it.
Everything is amazing till 0:54. I read they used CGI models just to help during the LO but still it feels very rigid and some shots didn't feel nice like 1:04 - 1:05 felt extremely jarring after those amazing 54 seconds. Well not to complain good stuff to say the least.
You know, looking back this wasn't as rigid as I thought it was on an initial viewing. Well done to the staff of this show.
comments are a mess

Myoun opted to not use the CG reference for their part

that just be the way they draw
