over 2 years agoI have to say however that I don't feel that from that specific sequence. It's not that Nagata doesn't lean in that tendency, but he tends to put a lot of work in the details (things like the shading or the smears) so I feel it's actually rewarding to go through it again and again, not just to get what's going on but to spot all these little cool things.

over 2 years agoimo it's hard to toe the line between depicting superhuman movement and coming out with an overly flashy scene that feels weightless or messy, but it's mostly a matter of taste
what makes this one work for me is nagata's rhythm and strong artwork/shading

nagata's fabric shading always reminded me of yutaka's
the difference is that
IMO,nagata CAN actually do this style right
