I'm starting to notice Nakamura tends to use really graceful wave motion, like how the cloak fabric here flaps up and down. Really nice.
It is a bit like a 24 fps cloth simulation reacting to an object moving as 12 fps.

I have not done cloth simulations before. You got any examples to illustrate your point?

I think the gracefulness comes from there being two sets of waves. It waves up and down, but also waves forward and back. The under side of the cloak shows as the cloak moves up and turns under as it goes down so it gives more depth to the cloak movement. Also, as the wave motion progresses from "("shape to ")" shape the "S"shaped (inbetweens/breakdowns) are there long enough to give a feeling of flexibility.

There is similar movement on the flapping rag at the start of this clip.

Again, the underside of the cloth showing gives a more graceful movement and again a sort of "double wave motion" (waving up and down, but also waving forward and back)

I hope my comment is clear, its a challenge putting my thoughts on this into words.
