Great direction and board by Komaki with some dope Sakuga sprinkled over. I guess people are getting too spoiled. Unless you expected another 914 for some unknown reason.

No, the episode wasn't bad for the animation, it was pretty costant and very good towards the end.
More because of the content itself and the nice old filler

Isn't the content what people have been waiting for? They even redeemed themselves by giving folks what they wanted with Batman.

The fuck? It may be not the best Komaki episode but the pacing was pretty good in general terms. Keep in mind they only gave her 11 pages to play with. I honestly think she improved pretty much everything we saw in the manga.

The pages are the problem to begin with.
Maybe when someone in the future watches this episodes in a row it won't be a problem, but waiting everytime to get 11 pages is nerve-wracking.
I think it's a waste of potential too, if Komaki directed this episode with at least one full chapter it could have been better. In regards of improving the manga, I don't think we really needed improvements over what was improved, could have been worse I suppose.

Should probably take this conversation elsewhere instead of spamming the comments with it
Loved this episode and especially this cut. Hope Kojima appears soon again.
Kojima is a monster! and this was savage, but the red hawk (the Wano one against Holdem, not the one in 3D2Y) still my favourite work from him in the series.
he is one of the top tier who worked on onepiece
on the ranks with
ryo onishi and yuki hayashi

that's fighting choreography right there,it took some time but currently onepiece is one of the shows that you follow for the fighting animation
Kojima is a fucking monster. The cut between 0:03-0:05... goosebumps

Right? That cut in particular reminds me of Chengxi Huang's cut in Boruto #39
9.99 out of 10. There is a small animation error with the smears when he does his awesome flip that kills the legibility of what he does there.

All they have to do is add the yellow to the pole part of the scythe and it becomes amazing

I'd highly recommend you to stop ranking, rating and classifying animators in the comments.
