A funny story I heard regarding these rotating cuts: Iwane apparently had no clue how to draw Dodaitose from behind so Nintendo sent him a plush to use as a reference.

November 12, 2009: DP #151-152 airs, Iwane works on both.
April 01, 2010: Natsume Kunihiko-supervised Pocket Monster Diamond & Pearl Episode #170 airs with action cuts by Iwane Masa'aki.

That's about twenty episodes of buffer.
