Video Games
As I Kickstarter backer, I have gotten Shantae: Half Genie Hero before the official release. One thing I notice is how smooth the animation is on the hand drawn sprites at points. That got me to thinking about sakuga in video games.

Now I do see that are posts on this website that do come from video games. However, they are mostly cutscenes that don't have anything to do with gameplay, which is a shame. I know there are other games that use hand drawn sprites like Ducktales Remastered (from the studio that created Shantae) and Wario Land: Shake It! (animated by Production I.G.).

In fact, you can include those three Don Bluth laserdisc games as well (Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp, Space Ace). Sure, those are basically Quick Time Events in their purist form, but they are fun to watch.

Who else can think of any Sakuga from video games?
The 2D sprites from Street Fighter III: Third Strike are gorgeously done. There are even some genga laying around of some of the individual animations.

How would sprites be uploaded here, though, without uploading 50+ entries at a time? A super consolidated upload featuring all the sprite animations of a character?

One distantly related idea that I don't think would have a place on this site (but that I think would be cool regardless) is to create an interactive .swf that allows you to see every individual sprite animation of a character, categorized and separated, on a single page. You could play them back normally or frame by frame them with a small set of buttons below each individual animation.
There are some websites that are specifically for sprite animation (only for fighting games though) like this one:

And the animation in Street Fighter III: Third Strike is so good that has it's own site:
