Agree. Not to undermine Abe's work but I find that scene better paced, with slowdowns to make clear what is happening on screen. This one you can't really make out the choreography.
Yeah, the compositing drags this scene down imo. The CG mist and the motion blur kind of mess with readability of the handdrawn effects. Still a cool scene regardless, of course...

All of the compositing are based off of notes made of Nozomu Abe. Ufotable prioritizes his stuff so they allow him to do that. So all of the blur effects and mist effects are placed there based off notes Abe put. Also I think the mist breathing effects were super well done, Ufotable has done all the breathings styles justice imo.
