Makes sense. Kinda wish western cartoons used impact frames instead of the white frames, would have been way more interesting, and less lazy.

They do sometimes, just search "impact_frames+western". I think it's because outsourced TV animation like this rarely has artistic freedom to use different techniques like impact frames (and it wasn't as well-known in the west back in 2003)

There is (very technically) an impact frame one frame before the flash. It's gray on black and very hard to see in motion. I still don't think I'd tag it, but there's "something" there

Yeah, I see it now, and if it is an impact frame, it’s the shortest in terms of frames I’ve ever seen. And I’m I’m also apprehensive to tag it, so if anyone else feels strongly that it should be, they can tag it as an impact frame themselves.
